Amazing strength, stamina and support during half term from The Hall’s fabulous Tri team & Tour de Godwin cyclists- everyone achieved their challenge at Blenheim and the sun shone throughout. Well Done & huge thanks to all who took part fundraising £20k for the charity Support SEND Kids!

The Big Sing at St Michael’s just before half term was HUGE, noisy, fun and often extremely emotional! Singing some songs from Mr Godwin’s very own ‘jukebox’ of old favourites, the 4 houses competed for the trophy. Thanks to adjudicator David Revels & very well done Orange on your victory!!

Just before half term, students and staff said a sincere and heartfelt ‘Goodbye & Thank You’ to Mel, Catering Manager at The Hall for an impressive 30 years, who is retiring. Remembering her many old favourites such as mac ‘n’ cheese, her fish fingers, carrot cake and banoffee pie, everyone joined in song to express our appreciation!

We wish Mel good luck in her new ventures in Sussex and thank her for her hard work and flexibility over the decades.

Congratulations to our very talented jazz students for an outstanding gig at Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho in May.

Congratulations to students who performed in our Senior School Informal Concert in mid- May. The standard of playing was impressive, and it was wonderful to see some student collaboration!

Our annual ‘Spotlights’ concert was a tremendous success once again! We enjoyed performances by parents with their children, solo acts, and even our academic staff, all in a fun and relaxed atmosphere! ⁦⁦

The Hall’s Chapel Choir sang a lovely evensong in the stunning surroundings of Ripon Cathedral on Saturday evening as well as collaborating in the Sunday morning service alongside the Choir of Ripon Cathedral. It was a great occasion to meet new people and experience collaborative singing. Lots of fun, walking and some serious eating went on outside rehearsals and services too of course, in the beautiful surroundings of Knaresborough and Ripon

Stafanie Taylor, former captain of West Indies Women, & Kerry Tomlinson, current captain of the New Zealand Maoris Women’s Team, came to Wilf Slack to run a training session with the 1st & 2nd Xl cricketers this week. What an opportunity to practise skills & pick up some tips!

Welcome back to the summer term! Exciting to see the progress in the SSDP – the barrel roof over the Wathen Hall and new classroom complex has been seeded and the Old Library & Pit areas are barely recognisable as the remodelling begins… not long to go now before completion!

Year 5 have been writing stories based on one mathematical concept for an international competition. They enjoyed sharing their original ideas with each other in Maths lessons and learning from each other. Good Luck!
