The Hall School is delighted to announce that Henry Keighley‑Elstub will join the school as Headmaster in September 2026.
Henry brings over 28 years of experience in education, including two decades in senior leadership roles at some of London’s most respected prep schools. He is currently Head of Devonshire House Preparatory School in Hampstead, where he has overseen significant growth and a strong period of academic development. Prior to this, Henry spent ten years as Head of Pembridge Hall School in Notting Hill, leading a comprehensive curriculum redesign that contributed to consistently excellent destination school outcomes.
His earlier positions include Deputy Head at Wetherby Preparatory School and Senior Master at Chesham Prep. Henry began his teaching career in boys’ boarding prep schools at Cothill in Oxfordshire and Ludgrove in Surrey.

We are also pleased to share that Dr Willem Steyn, who has served with great distinction as Interim Head, has been appointed Senior Deputy Head. Willem will continue to provide strong leadership and stability, working closely with Henry over the coming months to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for all pupils and families.
