Following the decision of Chris Godwin to retire from Headship at the end of this academic year after eleven years, the governors have been conducting a recruitment process to select the new Head.
Today, the Chair of Governors, Anthony Fobel was able to inform the school community that Carl Rycroft has been appointed to be the new Headmaster.
Carl is currently Head of Davenies School, where he has been Headmaster for 8 years, and prior to that he was Headmaster of Barnard Castle Preparatory School for 6 years. Carl brings with him an impressive record of achieving academic excellence over the course of his career, along with substantial pastoral experience.
Commenting on his appointment, Carl said “I am delighted to have been appointed as the next Headmaster of The Hall School. As a school with a well-earned reputation for excellence in and out of the classroom, I am excited to join The Hall as it continues its aspirational mission to provide a high-quality education that is academically stimulating, unashamedly aspirational and that has character and community at its heart.”
