Day 1 started with a trip to Hazel Food Market in Pretoria, where our 50 musicians were able to fill up on a heart breakfast, sampling a variety of SA delicacies in preparation for a busy day ahead. Then it was off to visit Morning Stars in the township of Mamelodi. What a rapturous welcome we received before sharing music, food, football and cricket during the afternoon. We were delighted to visit the building that has been purchased for the Morning Stars’ Cultural Centre, for which our students have been fundraising over recent months, achieving an astonishing £34,000!
