Two Year 7 students played for the Barnet U14 category in the National Youth County Chess Championships this week. It was a tense day with South Wales presenting formidable opposition while Richmond, Barnet’s historical adversary in County matches, was left trailing behind – but, by the end of the day, both the U14 and the U18 teams had won, claiming the County Championship trophy in both categories, the U14s for a second year in a row!
Well done for your great balance of competitiveness, camaraderie and teamwork!
