Sustainability

Recent years have seen increasing concern about environmental issues in the running of businesses and organisations — particularly in areas such as procurement, pollution and emissions, waste, energy and water use, transport issues and the use of natural resources.

In the education sector, sustainability relates both to the running of a school according to sustainable development policies, and includes sustainability in the curriculum, raising awareness about environmental issues in future generations.

We are conscious that The Hall’s everyday activities impact on the environment in many ways, including, for example:

  • waste and emissions from boilers, laboratories and workshops
  • disposal of electrical and electronic equipment, hazardous materials and waste
  • water discharges from laboratories and catering facilities
  • use of resources, such as energy, paper, and water

The Hall is working to embed green values and sustainable practices into all aspects of school life.
